Last year was a pretty hectic one - it also kind of sucked health wise for a big part of it. The best part was obviously the birth of my wonderful daughter (and then getting engaged!) I've got many wonderful things to look forward to this year - the most immanent being my wedding!
We didn't give ourselves long to plan our wedding. We got engaged in July last year, but didn't start planning the wedding the wedding until October really. Now with only around 2 months to go it's pretty hectic - with a baby to take care of I have to admit that Mr B is doing most of the work.
There really is so much to do with a wedding. My words of wisdom at the beginning of the process were 'Let's keep it calm & relaxed', but that has kind of gone out of the window. Chair covers, table plans, table decorations, signage, stationary, dresses, bouquets..... it never ends. As you might expect, we are having a totally vegan wedding - which hasn't posed many obstacles to get around really. I'll be sure to fill you in on it all after the big day!
At the end of the day though, getting married is really about two people and their love for each other.... and that's what I'm looking forward to.
My daughter has grown and changed so much already since she was was born. I think it's SO SO important to savor every moment and enjoy each stage as much as possible. Just seeing her sitting happily and playing with her toys is special - even if it means she's now longer that smaller (she was never tiny!) newborn lying helplessly in my arms.
This year she'll learn to do so many new things and I'm looking forward to each and every one of them. Crawling (she's almost mastered it already), walking, new words & skills - they'll all be just as special as each other.
I've been writing this blog since 2009, and my life has changed massively since then. When I started out I didn't really know what my 'end goal' was - I was just sharing my vegan student life & recipes. Since I've become a mum my blog has become much more important to me. It's a lovely way for me to document things for family & friends, share vegan tips & baby recipes and it's something I can look back on and smile.
I guess my goals for this year blog wise are: be more creative with baby friendly recipes, occasionally post recipes for the grown ups, connect with more blogging moms and just have a good time with it!
I'd really love it if you could vote for me to be in the top 25 Vegan & Vegetarian Mom Bloggers - you can vote once every 24 hours and the voting ends on the 7th Feb!
